Al Relente
Al Relente is a dance and mediation project for 30–40 non-professional women, culminating in a collective performance in public space. Through a score of everyday gestures, it proposes new relationships with the body, movement and territory, questioning the objectification, discrimination and homogenisation of the female body. The process unfolds through listening, movement and collective creation, creating a space of trust, autonomy and encounter between women of different generations and experiences.
Since 2021, Al Relente has taken place in different cities and contexts in Spain and Africa, reaching more than 250 women. The project understands dance as a tool for participation, empowerment and transformation, and each process ends with an artistic action that brings the participants’ bodies into public space, connecting the individual body, the collective body and the territory.

Cuerpografías
Cuerpografías is a training, mediation and creation project rooted in the territory, aimed at local artists and agents. It explores the relationship between body, space and city through a short residency of bodily and urban experimentation.
Through maps, routes, architectures and experiences, participants build a bodily and affective cartography of the territory, understanding the body as an instrument to read, transform and produce knowledge about space.
The project can take place at festivals, cultural centres, universities and territory-related spaces, and culminates in a shared performative action.

Cartografías Culturales
Cartografías Culturales is a collaborative and interdisciplinary platform that brings together contemporary creation, territory, training and mediation, with special attention to local and rural contexts in Cantabria.
The project combines mapping local cultural resources with a programme of contemporary artistic experiences, connecting agents, spaces and cultural heritage with institutions and cultural networks at local, national and international level.

Contexto Académico
Mari Paula develops a practice of research, training and context-building in dialogue with universities and art schools in Spain, the United States and Latin America. She has given talks, workshops and training processes at institutions such as the University of Cantabria, UNAM, UNESPAR, UTFPR and ESDAD Galicia, among others.
At the same time, her processes and works are studied and researched by students, researchers and universities in different countries, creating an ongoing dialogue between artistic practice, research and academic thought.
Her work has led to studies and publications on her practice, including “Mari Paula, una coreógrafa antropófaga”, written in collaboration with researcher Alicia Piñar Díaz and published in Quiroga. Revista de Patrimonio Iberoamericano. It has also been present in academic contexts linked to the University of Delaware and Johns Hopkins University.
