Brazil · Management and professional fabric

In Brazil, she began this path coordinating dance at Casa Hoffmann – Centro de Estudos do Movimento, in Curitiba, taking part in the management, programming and development of the dance profession.

She also co-founded Casa Selvática (Selvática Ações Artísticas), extending her practice towards building networks and contexts for creation.

Cantabria · Movimiento en Red

In Cantabria, she chaired Movimiento en Red – Association of Dance Professionals of Cantabria, working for the cohesion, professionalisation and representation of the sector and its dialogue with public institutions.

From there she promoted projects, networks and actions aimed at strengthening the presence of dance in the region.

Spain · FECED

In 2022 she joined the board of FECED – Spanish Federation of Dance Companies and Businesses as vice-president, taking part in organising and representing dance at national level.

Ibero-America · LAS VIVAS & RAMA

She is co-founder and director of LAS VIVAS – Ibero-American Dance Platform, through which she promotes networks of collaboration and cooperation between professionals, institutions and projects from different Ibero-American territories. The platform brings together creation, thought, management and international cooperation, consolidating a transnational dimension of her work in the sector.

She is also part of RAMA – Artistic Mobility Programme, an initiative linked to artistic mobility and circulation in Ibero-America, helping to build connections and exchange opportunities between artists and different creative contexts.

Her work in the Ibero-American sphere thus combines network building, artistic mobility, cooperation and professional organisation, connecting territories and agents beyond national borders.

Europe · iCoDaCo

Mari Paula is an associate artist of iCoDaCo (International Contemporary Dance Collective), a European platform for exchange, research and collaboration that brings together artists from different countries to develop new methodologies and practices for contemporary dance. The 2024–2027 edition brings together participants from 12 European countries and works on creation, sustainability, accessibility, innovation and the circulation of knowledge in dance.

Representation, policies and context-building

This path is completed by her participation in expert committees, open calls and sector representation bodies in both Brazil and Spain, as well as in the Dance Sector Board of the Cantabrian Council of Culture.

Her work in sector management thus sits in a hybrid space between representation, institutional mediation, network building and the development of policies and contexts for dance.
