Fronterizas invisibles
An invisible version of Fronterizas created with iara Solano Arana as part of the project “Towards an Invisible Dance”: a sensory experience conceived for blind and partially sighted audiences — and for anyone wishing to experience dance through the other senses — in which the piece returns to its essence through sound, words and light.

Synopsis
In our language, the prefix in- denotes negation or deprivation, but it also means “inward” or “within.” We play with this double meaning to point out that the negation of the visible is, at the same time, an invitation to delve into other ways of seeing. Because darkness is not the absence of perception but a different mode of vision.
Towards an Invisible Dance is a practical research project by iara Solano Arana, in which she collaborates with choreographers and dancers to transform their dance pieces into more accessible versions, through the creation of new invisible versions. What the project proposes is to offer quality sensory dance experiences created especially for people with low vision or blindness, but also for anyone who wants to experience dance on equal terms with people who are blind or have low vision, through their remaining senses. The aim is not to create an audio description of the pieces, but to return to their essence, to their most primary form, generating a new piece as a total experience, in a new format.
The first of these adaptations, to which this video belongs, was made in collaboration with Mari Paula, a choreographer and performer from São Paulo based in Cantabria. This teaser is a summary of Fronterizas Invisible, created from her original work Fronterizas.
